LOP short for Lake of the Pines is a fantastic gated community set around a private lake and 19 hole golf course (yes really 19 holes). I love this area because it feels very resort-like with abundant outdoor activities. Owning a golf cart is a must when living in the Lake of the Pines community. Picture yourself driving your golf cart to the lake with a kayak on the roof, to the the beach or to the clubhouse for cocktails and dinner with friends. The speed limit is a strict 25 miles per hour because so many people walk and drive golf carts in the community.

Lake of the Pines is only 11 miles north of Old Town Auburn up Hwy 49. Although it is located in Nevada County, the homeowners have Auburn addresses. LOP is located at a comfortable 1500’ altitude. There are approximately 2000 homes surrounding a 230 acre lake and 19 hole golf course. The community is made up of lakefront homes with private boat docks, golf course homes and homes in beautiful natural settings.
