In these uncertain times it seems a bit awkward to write about real estate. However, this is a good time to stay up to date on the market movement in the Sierra Foothills areas. In my following blogs I am going to write about homes for sale in Auburn and the surrounding areas and how the current crisis is impacting our market. I will also describe how the current state mandate is affecting life and daily activities in the foothills.
As I sit on my deck writing this blog it seems almost surreal. I am looking out over hillsides covered in trees, flowering plants and the water sparking on the lake. It is as if nothing has changed. Many places in the foothills are like this because homes are in rural settings. As I drove to Auburn the parking by the bridge that spans the North Fork of the American River was parked full. It seems that people are taking this time to enjoy hiking in our beautiful Auburn Recreation Area.
I also went hiking yesterday but on the Cool side. The hills were beautiful and quiet. I did not see one other person.
As far as the housing market goes homes are still selling. The vintage cottages within walking distance to Old Town and close to Downtown Auburn are selling in some instances over asking. Although many of these homes are priced under $400,000 and need work. Personally I would rather buy a vintage home that has not been ruined by a bad remodel.
I am seeing not quiet as many homes coming on the market and some are being placed on Hold in the MLS. I would think some of these sellers would be open to showing their properties to qualified buyers accompanied by a reputable agent.
Please call, text or email with any questions. I will be trying to keep this blog up to date twice a week. Please be patient with me as I learn to do this blogging stuff!
Be safe and be healthy.
